About me
Deborah Nares is a 3rd generation Californian Mexican born and raised in the beach front town of Oceanside, CA. Deb joined AFT in 2021 and brings 2 decades of technical assistance and non-profit management experience centering the Latino farming community on the Central Coast of California. She has specialized in water and soil management & business and financial management with organizations such as Viva Farms in WA, Center for Agriculture and Food Systems in VT and the Ecological Farming Association in CA including, CA Farmlink, Kitchen Table Advisors and ALBA all organizations rooted in racial equity that center underserved farmer experiences. In her current role at AFT, she leads CA business TA programs and land transfer and access work with diverse communities in CA. She loves all things beach and water; dance and music; friends and family; food and farming. She is the mother to 2 smart and silly girls and would love building community around common goals and values.
