Since 2010, Liya Schwartzman has been a trusted partner for California farmers and ranchers, helping them secure the land, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. Through her work with California FarmLink, she has guided hundreds in land access, strong tenure agreements, financing, and succession planning, while connecting them to a nationwide network of partners and service providers. As a sought-after speaker at statewide and national workshops and conferences, Liya addresses issues facing beginning and retiring farmers and ranchers. She served on the USDA Advisory Committee on Beginning Farmers and Ranchers and the Strategic Growth Council's California Agricultural Land Equity Task Force, shaping initiatives that protect farmland, support farmers, and strengthen agriculture across California and the nation. Growing up in Los Angeles, Liya was captivated by agriculture, working lands, and the natural environment, which led her to pursue a degree at UC Davis' College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Today, she lives in Sacramento, America's Farm-to-Fork Capital, where the seasonal harvests and thriving farms continue to inspire her work.
