Quivira Coalition fosters resilience on Western working lands. We work at the intersection of agriculture and conservation by cultivating skills, convening community, and stewarding land together. We invite everyone to a common ground - the Radical Center - found among different people and viewpoints where we rise to challenges and build trust in service of land, water and communities.
Leah has directed Quivira's beginning rancher and farmer training programs since 2019, helping expand programming to include business and financial management training for ranch hands who are moving into ranch management or entrepreneurship. She also helped launch Soil to Supper program, a program funded through NRCS's Advancing Markets for Producers program that will provide $2.5M in financial incentives for livestock producers implementing conservation practices in the Southwest.
Recognizing that farm and ranch viability is essential to ranchers’ and farmers’ ability to invest in and implement conservation practices, Leah is particularly interested in learning about resources, partnerships, and opportunities that can strengthen the financial resilience and long-term viability of agricultural operations in the West.
