This moderated roundtable will discuss participants' observations, practices, and new developments in integrated climate risk planning and adaptation/mitigation into traditional business planning. Many land and environmentally focused advisors are not well versed in farm financials or business planning, and vice versa. Sessions at past NFVC's have noted the importance of bringing these topics together and supporting business advisors to engage with clients around climate risk as a matter of regular practice. In this session, we will explore examples of successful integration of these topics, program structures that facilitate this integration, important distinctions and considerations across different forms of climate risk in different industries, and social considerations around topical framing and language use. The discussion will be both moderated and facilitated to ensure audience participation via Q&A as well as consideration of its application to their own programs and business advising situations. Learning objectives include attendees gaining useful language for this topical integration, guidance in client engagement practice, and examples of successful programs or consulting structures.
